MCERF Grant Cycle Open

Onward! A Legacy Foundation, a community foundation dedicated to the philanthropic health of Southwest Colorado, is opening their Montezuma County Emergency Relief Fund application cycle.

This fund was set up to give donors a vehicle to support nonprofits and our community in a time of crisis. Established in response to COVID-19, the Montezuma County Emergency Relief Fund (MCERF) will support nonprofits working with food insecurity, healthcare, impact, and recovery. Grant awards will be based on funding available.
 
Onward! A Legacy Foundation Board of Directors will review requests for disbursal of funds. Once the imminent emergency subsides, fund will continue to grow and be available for future emergencies in Montezuma County.
 
The grant cycle for Onward! opened on May 1 and will close at NOON on May 15th. Grant documents and information will be available online at our website. Questions may be directed to nicci@onwardfoundation.org. Short-term (maximum 6 month) grants ranging from $500 to $2000 will be disbursed this cycle. To be eligible to apply for a grant, an organization must meet the following criteria;

  1. Be a not-for-profit project or organization located in and providing services to Montezuma County, Colorado.
  2. Have 501(c) (3) status.
  3. Have an organizational structure that demonstrates professionalism and accountability i.e.aboard of directors or similar structure with some kind ofgovernance.
  4. Have well defined goals and a method for evaluating success for the grant activity proposed.

Funding will be based on the amount of money donated to MCERF.
