Deadline to apply is February 20th
Thank you for your interest in applying for the Aikin Scholarship. This scholarship is offered with the sincere belief that ongoing education promotes open minds, critical thinking, and kindness toward others. These qualities improve your chance for success in life, inspire future leaders, and make the world a better place for us all. Erik and Jeffrey Hobbs each received their primary education at Mancos Schools and went on to pursue successful careers, including leadership roles in their chosen fields.
We wish to help students who have clear goals for their education. This includes students who plan to attend four-year colleges and universities, two-year community colleges, or trade schools. Application for this scholarship is open for individuals who are Mancos High School graduates or who live within the Mancos 81328 zip code, and may include non-traditional students. Non-traditional may include those older than typical age, part-time attendance, being independent of parents, working full time while enrolled, having dependents, being a single parent, or being a recipient of a GED or high school completion certificate.
This scholarship may be used for education in any accredited college. The school or college must be a degree granting institution. All scholarship money will be disbursed to the school’s Financial Aid Office. If, for any reason, the recipient does not enroll in an institution of higher learning or drops out, the unused portion of the funds must be repaid immediately to the Aikin Scholarship.
Thank you for your interested in the Aikin Memorial Scholarship in Memory of Erik and Jeffrey Hobbs. Applications are accepted from January 1st to February 20th yearly. The application form is not currently available due to it being outside the timeframe.
