{"id":624,"date":"2019-05-15T17:31:31","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T17:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onwardfoundation.org\/Site\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=624"},"modified":"2019-05-15T17:31:31","modified_gmt":"2019-05-15T17:31:31","slug":"scyc-positive-youth-development-training","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/onwardfoundation.org\/Site\/?tribe_events=scyc-positive-youth-development-training","title":{"rendered":"SCYC: Positive Youth Development Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"gmail_default\">Positive Youth Development, &#8220;PYD&#8221;, is an approach that is sweeping the nation changing youth environments by engaging and including young people in the strategizing and development of youth programs, policies affecting youth and changing communities as a whole.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">*<i><b>\u00a0Why do we want to do this?<\/b><\/i>\u00a0By adopting a PYD approach we not only get to see an improvement in youth buy-in to our programs, businesses or communities, we also get to give these young people a real-life experience that they will take with them into the world of adulthood.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><i>* Why have we shared this with you?\u00a0<\/i> Maybe you work directly with youth through school, programs, or activities, or, maybe you come across young people through the work you do as a court or government official, law enforcement or business owner. Or, maybe your a parent of a young person between the ages of 9 and 25 and want to have a better understanding of what&#8217;s happening in their world.
