Herb Hut Classes

Tuesday June 9th, 6pm Manna Soup Kitchen, Culinary classroom $35 Description: Come learn herbal medicine-making, while raising funds for a good cause! Pine salve is a topical medicine used to fight infection and heal tissues in all manners of cuts, scrapes, bites, splinters, and rashes; an essential for the medicine cabinet! We'll be making this salve from the resin of pine trees. Your class fee will go directly towards funding The Herb Hut Free Clinic, a non-profit that provides free herbal medicine and massage to underserved communities in La Plata County. The salves we make in class will stock the clinic's shelves, and you'll be able to take one home for yourself.

Tuesday August 18th, 6pm Manna Soup Kitchen, Culinary classroom $35 Description: Come learn herbal medicine-making, while raising funds for a good cause! Fire cider is a delicious, warming, common cold-busting remedy for the fall and winter months. It's great as medicine or in food. Your class fee will go directly towards funding The Herb Hut Free Clinic, a non-profit that provides free herbal medicine and massage to underserved communities in La Plata County. The cider we make in class will stock the clinic's shelves, and you'll be able to take a bottle home for yourself.

Saturday September 12th, 1pm Manna Soup Kitchen, Culinary classroom $35 Decription: Come learn herbal medicine-making, while raising funds for a good cause! Elderberry syrup is anti-viral and strengthens the immune system. It's a great preventative to take regularly during the fall and winter months, and it's also helpful during acute illness. Your class fee will go directly towards funding The Herb Hut Free Clinic, a non-profit that provides free herbal medicine and massage to underserved communities in La Plata County. The syrup we make in class will stock the clinic's shelves, and you'll be able to take a bottle home for yourself.
